Résumé de conférence

Barcelona’s La Ronda utility tunnel began construction in 1989 in planning for the 1992 Olympics Game hosted by the city. It is coupled with a major roadway that circles the city. It is 36 km long. The utility tunnel is used for numerous underground utilities, including electricity. Health and safety issues are well managed. Now, for almost 30 years, the city has operated the utility tunnel with its partners. The conference will highlight the benefits of utility tunnels, the managing and governance issues, financing as well as the challenges of such construction.
