This presentation briefly describes Pipe Penetrating Radar (PPR) technology, the underground in-pipe application of GPR, a non-destructive testing method that can detect defects and cavities within and outside mainline diameter non-metallic (concrete, PVC, HDPE, etc.) underground pipes. Recent case studies will be presented to illustrate how PPR has identified existing pipe and pipe bedding symptoms that can now be addressed to prevent catastrophic failure due to sinkhole development.
